| 01 Museum of Natural History Founded in 1869, it is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world consisting of of 27 interconnected buildings housing 45 permanent exhibit halls, a planetarium, temporary exhibition halls, research and collections facilities, and a library in the natural sciences. | 03 New York Historical Society Founded in 1804, it has holdings covering 4 centuries of American history. 40,000 pieces are on permanent display. The collection includes George Washington's camp bed at Valley Forge to the world's largest collection of Tiffany lamps. Paintings, sculpture, furniture, tools for home and trade, textiles, metals, ceramics and glass are on display.

| 04 Lower East Side Tenement Museum A restored 1863 six-story brick tenement building at 97 Orchard Street that was home to an estimated 7,000 working class immigrants.The museum strives to recreate immigrant life in the 19th and 20th centuries. Along with a glimpse of the past, tours offer insights into current debates about immigration and public health.

05 The Paley Center for Media (formerly Museum of Television & Radio)The museum does not collect artifacts and memorabilia, instead it comprises mostly screening rooms, where more than 120,000 television shows, commercials and radio programs are available to view. Some tv programs are from the 1930s with radio programs dating back to the 1920s.
