You enter the bus at the front and pay the driver. You leave the bus at the back.

Generally buses stop running around 11:30pm (Mon - Sat), and 8pm on Sunday.

Trains
The central city train station is located at Britomart, BritoMart Place, 12 Queen St. From here you can take a trains to all over Auckland and the north island , including The Overlander train to Wellington.

Ferries

Fullers Ferries depart from the Downtown Ferry Terminal, Downtown Auckland. This is located on Quay Street and is close to the Britomart Transport Centre. You can buy a ticket at the Ticket Office at the Ferry Terminal.
