HOW TO GET TO MALTA


Being a small Mediterranean island, Malta is mainly visited by air. However, some arrive by cruise ship and also by ferry from Sicily (93 km away).

Malta International Airport in Luqa, is the only airport in Malta. It is located around 5 km (3.1 miles) southwest of Valletta.

The Airport is served by public transport. Bus number 8 leaves the airport to Valletta and vice-versa - passing through Gudja, Ghaxaq, Tarxien, Paola, Marsa, and Floriana. Services run around every twenty minutes from around 6am to 8/9pm (Price 47 cent)

Taxis are available 24 hours a day from the airport to any destination in Malta. Fixed rates are applicable and pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth inside the Welcomers' Hall on Arrivals.(Price examples Valletta (15.75 euro); Sliema & Pacevile (20.75); Mellieh (29.75 Euro).

There is also an airport to hotel shuttle service that can be pre booked online (See Malta Airport link below). Price around 8 Euro per person
