The Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, was built as a film set for the 1980 Popeye film, starring Robin Williams. Today it is open to the public as an open-air museum and family entertainment complex.
The village consists of several wooden buildings with some equipped with various items related to the filming, including props used in the film’s production.
Attractions, other than the village itself, includes a 15 minute boat trip around Anchor Bay where one can photograph the scenery and view Popeye Village from the sea; A 20 minute history and information audio-visual show which includes clips from the actual film and the set’s construction; 9 hole mini golf; Water trampolines and Games; Splash Pool; Sun beds and Umbrellas; puppet shows, Fun Park. (Some events depend on the weather or season!)
