HAMA RIKYU GARDEN

Hama Rikyu is a landscaped garden surrounded by Shioiri Pond, a sea water moat filled by Tokyo Bay. It was remodeled as a public garden park on the site of a villa of the Shogun Tokugawa family in the 17th century.

Highlights of this most delightful and peaceful park include Seawater ponds, forested areas and a teahouse.

What is fascinating is the contrast between the traditional gardens and Shiodome's skyscrapers in the background!
