CURRENCY
The yen (JPY, ¥) is the official currency of Japan
Coins: 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 yen.
Bills: 1000, 2000, 5000, and 10000 yen.
CREDIT CARDS
Visa, MasterCard and American Express are all widely accepted in Tokyo for most things including shopping, restaurants, hotel bills. However, many places still only take cash.
MONEY EXCHANGE
You can change cash at most Banks in Tokyo
There are several ATM machines in Tokyo, which may be cheaper to withdraw money using your debit or credit card, but this depends on your individual bank charges!! (NOTE: Not all ATMs will accept foreign cards and not all ATMs are open 24 hours - Citibank has 24 hour ATMs!)

TIPPING
Generally, there is no tipping in Japan!
