The park has a late 18th century artificial lake, which has an small Ionic temple dedicated to Aesculapius, the God of healing, built on an island in the lake .
The park is home to some important museums including Museo e Galleria Borghese, which is is housed in the Villa Borghese; The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna; and Museo Nazionale Etrusco, which is housed in Villa Giulia.
You can hire bikes and motor buggies to wonder around the park. There is a cafe and restuarant and many nice places to have a picnic. The only downside is that traffic is allowed through part of the park.
