CHURCH OF SAN DOMENICO




This huge church was started in the 1300's and took almost 100 years to be completed around 1458. In the 17th century the architect Carlo Maderno started to renovated the inside of the church in the Baroque style. Although, the baroque decoration and furniture within the church is no longer in place.

The stained-glass window is one of the largest in Italy.

The church has a Renaissance wooden choir and houses examples of Umbrian art and the tomb of Pope Benedict XI.

The church is located on Piazza Giordano Bruno, off Corso Cavour.
