01  Palazzo Dei Priori

Situated in the main square. Dates from late 13th century . The Palazzo Dei Priori is actually made up from several building and houses several tourist attractions including the Galleria Nationale dell’Umbria; Collegio del Cambio; Collegio della Mercanzia and Sala dei Notari .

02  Fontana Maggiore

A medieval fountain built in the main square in 1278 - designed by Fra Bevignate and sculpted by father and son, Nicolò and Giovanni Pisano.

03  Duomo

Situated in the main square. The first stone was laid in 1345, but contruction did not start proper until around 1437 and continued until around 1587, but was never fully completed as the fascade was left unfinished.

04  Basilica of San Pietro
      & Medieval Garden

This Benedictine church was founded in the 10th century. It has a delightful medieval garden where one can sit and have a picnic. It also has a viewing point of the valley below.

05  Church of San Domenico

This huge church was started in the 1300's and took almost 100 years to be completed around 1458. In the 17th century the architect Carlo Maderno started to renovated the inside of the church in the Baroque style.

06  Etruscan Arch

The 3rd century BC Arch of Augustus is the main gate into the north side of the historic centre. It is the only one of the six remaining city gates that has not undergone considerable changes.
