CASSERO DI PORTA SAN ANGELO

This gate stands at the end of Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi - running north from Piazza Fortebraccio.

It was built in the 14th century as a gateway into the city, which at that time was surrounded by walls . In the 15th century the tower was built to support the gate.

You can climb the tower for some good sights of the city and valley.

To the right of the gate is San Michele Arcangelo, an early Christian church whose origins go back to the 5th century.

Price
2.50 Euro (Combined ticket for Pozzo Etrusco, Cassero di Porta San Angelo & Capella di San Severo)
