CAPELLA DI SAN SEVERO

This small chapel contains one of Raphael's earliest frescos (around 1506) of the Holy Trinity and Saints.

The upper section (Holy Trinity) was painted by Raphael. (Unfortuntely, the figure of the Father is lost).

He could not finish the lower part of the fresco because he had to leave for Rome for more important business!

The lower part (The Saints) was added in 1521 by Perugino, his former teacher, after Raphael's death.

The chapel is located on Piazza Raffaello .
Directions: Walking from Corso Vannucci through Piazza IV Novembre - keeping right - past Piazza Danti where you will come to Piazza Piccinino, which leads to Via Bontempi. On the left you will come to Via Raffaello - follow path to Piazza Raffaello.

On leaving the chapel you can find some great views which lead to the Etruscan Arch. Turn right when coming out of chapel. Follow path a few metres and then turn left up a few steps leading to Piazza Biordo Michllotti - then take a right turn and follow the wall and take the steps leading down the hill.
