
Originally designed for the wife of Cosimo I de' Medici, the large Boboli Gardens, situated behind the Pitti Palace, are elegant Italian gardens
The mid-16th century gardens contain beautiful Renaissance statues through to the 18th century, as well as grottoes, large fountains, and Roman antiquities.
The garden offers wonderful views of Florence and has several nice walking trails and is a great place to unwind.
Over the centuries the gardens have been restructed and enlarged. Artists who have contributed to the gardens includes Niccolo Tribolo, Bartolomeo Ammanati, Giorgio Vasari, Bernardo Buontalenti, Stoldo Lorenzi, Giulio Parigi, Zanobi del Rosso
NOTE: No food allowed in the gardens!

Entry is permitted up to an hour before closing time.
Closed on the 1st and the last Monday of each month

(Ticket valid also for the Museo degli Argenti, the Costume Gallery, the Porcelain museum in the Pitti Palace, but not for Palatina Gallery!).
