Vajdahunyad Castle, designed by Ignác Alpár, is situated in City Park.
It was originally built from cardboard and wood for the millennial exhibition in 1896 to show architectural styles from different parts of Hungary, but as it was popular it was then rebuilt from stone and brick.
Part of the castle is a copy a castle in Transylvania, Romania.
With its combination of styles, including gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque, it is a facinating and interesting building.
It now houses the Agricultural Museum.
