PARLIAMENT

The Hungarian Parliament is said to be the largest building in Hungary. It is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary.

The building, with its white neo-gothic turrets and arches, is a landmark of the Pest horizon, and is a popular tourist attraction.

Designed by Imre Steindl in 1884, it is 268m long, 123m wide, 96m high with the dome and has over 690 rooms.

The main façade faces the River Danube, but the main entrance is from Kossuth square.

You can take a guided tour of the building, leaving every half an hour in different languages. (You cannot roam around by yourself!). The tour takes around 50 minutes.
