
Père Lachaise Cemetery, established by Napoleon I in 1804, is one of the most famous cemeteries in the world and a popular tourist attraction because of the many famous people who are buried here, including Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Chopin, Moliere, Amadeo Modigliani, amongst others!
On visiting the cemetery it is popular to start near the Gambetta metro station on line 3 as this entrance is close to the tomb of Oscar Wilde.
Maps can be bought from the flower shops outside the cemetery for around 2 euro.
