London's Theatreland is the home of commercial English-speaking theatre, whether that be musical, drama, classical or comedy performed in over 40 West End venues.
Shows on offer include the top musicals Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables, and plays such as The Mousetrap, and The Women in Black
Theatreland is located in the heart of London's West End, and is bordered by the South Bank, Shaftesbury Avenue, Oxford Street and Kingsway, in this square grid are found all but a few of London's West End Theatres.
Most of London's Theatres were built in either Edwardian or Victorian times, and show a wealth of archtiectural styles, from neo-classical, Romanesque, Victorian facades and even Art-Decor.
Though not technically considered West End Theatre, as it is not a commercial venue, The National Theatre, located across the river on the south bank, is usually considered part of London's Theatreland.
