
ZSL (Zoological Society of London) London Zoo is found on the north side of Regent's Park and is the world's oldest scientific zoo. Founded in 1828 as a zoology collection for the scientific observation of animals, it was not opened to the public until 1847.
There are over 550 different species housed at London Zoo: including: monkeys, lions, tigers, giraffes, camels, Komodo dragon, penguins, parrots, otters, meerkats, spiders, jellyfish, lots of reptiles, aquarium.

Note: It takes about fifteen minutes to walk to the zoo from Camden Town tube station.
A pleasent way to arrive at the zoo is to walk to Camden Lock in London's famous Camden Market. Here you can catch a waterbus and cruise along Camden canal to the zoo's entrance.
