
Prague Zoo was founded in 1931, in the district of Troja in the north of Prague. (Around 8 km (5 miles) from central Prague)
The zoo is known for breeding Przewalski's horses, a rare and endangered subspecies of wild horse.
Its many animals includes Tigers, Leopards, Reindeer, Mooses, Antelopes, Camels, Gorilla's, Cheetahs, Sea Lions, Penguins, Pandas, Giraffes, Zebras, hippos, Indian elephants.
There is a Children's section of the zoo with many domesticated animals including goats, sheep, pigs, ponies, rabbits, hens, ducks and geese.
In 2008, Forbes Traveler Magazine listed Prague Zoo 7th best zoo in the world.
(Next to the Zoo is a Botanical Garden, one of two which Prague have. The other is on Na Slupi, in Prague 2)

How to Get There
Metro: Nádraží Holešovice
Zoo is 2km (1.2 miles) from Metro, so best get Bus 112, from metro to Zoo.
(Zoobus - Free direct bus from Holesovice metro to the Prague Zoo runs on weekends and holidays, from April to September, every 10 minutes. )
