The CN Tower is a Toronto landmark and top attraction with approx. 2 million visitors a year. It is particularly attractive at night when lit up! It is situated next to another landmark, the Rogers Centre!
The Tower was completed on February 22, 1974, and the antenna was completed on April 2, 1975. It was built by the railway company, Canadian National (CN).
With the antenna, it stands at 553.33 m (1,815 ft, 5 inches).
The tower was built as a telecommunications hub as Toronto’s growing skyline created problems for radio and television transmission and so a structure higher that the skyscrapers was needed!
There are several attractions at the CN Tower each priced separately or as a combo....
