
The museum's permanent collection collection contains more than 12,000 artifacts and spans almost 2,000 years and 200 world regions. This diverse collection includes fabrics, ceremonial cloths, garments, carpets, and quilts.
The Museum offers a broad variety of exhibitions including themed shows based on the permanent collection and contemporary exhibitions of the work of Canadian and international artists.
Founded in in 1975, it moved to its current location in 1989.
