06  Campbell House Museum

Built in 1822 by Judge William Campbell and his wife Hannah, Campbell House is the oldest remaining house from the original site of the Town of York. The house is one of the few surviving examples of Georgian architecture left in Toronto. In 1972, the house was moved 1½ kilometres to its current location and fully restored!

07  Fort York

Fort York marks the beginning of modern day Toronto. In 1796 Lieutenant Governor John Graves moved the capital of Upper Canada to Fort York for defensive purposes. A community soon develped to the East of Fort York, calling itself York. York changed its name to Toronto on 6 Mar 1834, marking the historic birth of the City. Fort York is home to Canada's largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings.
