  CREDIT CARDS

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are all widely accepted in Montreal for most things including Shopping, restaurants, Hotel bills.


  MONEY EXCHANGE

You can change cash at Banks or various money changing shops in Montreal

There are several ATM machines Montreal, which may be cheaper to withdraw money using your debit or credit card, but this depends on your individual bank charges!!

Generally 10:00 - 15:00/16:00 (Mon - Fri)
(Some branches may open Saturdays)


  TIPPING

Restaurants: The price you see advertised does not generally include tax (15%) or the service. You are expected to tip 15% of the pre-tax bill. Generally, this means paying an extra 30% of the advertised price!

Taxis: 15% of the fare.

Bars: $1 a drink

Chambermaid: $1 a day

Room service waiter $1

Porter at hotel: $1
