
La Ronde is a 146 acre (591,000m2) amusement park on St Helen's Island, which was opened as part of Expo ’67, and today features more then 40 rides. It is Canada's second largest amusement Park, and the largest park in Eastern Canada.
The park is home to nine roller coasters, including Monstre (The Monster), the highest double wooden roller coaster in the world. In May 2006 LaRonde opened it's largest roller coaster, The Goliath, which is 54m high and 1231m in length.
As well as 'thrill' rides, the park also contains many rides suitable for all types and ages of visitor, as well as 'Pays de Ribambelle' an area specifically designed for families with younger children.
The park also contains many cafes, fast-food establishments and snack bars.
Each summer the park hosts the annual "L'International des Feux Loto-Québec" ( the largest firework display competition in the world.
