The aviation department - Collection of over 130 Planes from the First and Second World Wars or the interwar and post-war periods, including the Nieuport 23, the Schreck seaplane and two German observation planes from the First World War. The Spitfire, the Tiger Moth, the legendary Dakota, the MiG-21 and the F-16 trace the international evolution of aviation. Visitors can enjoy sitting at the controls of the Hunter MK6.
The tank department - The collection comprises not only the majority of the armoured vehicles used by the Belgian army from 1935 to the present, but also a large number of foreign tanks including the British Churchill and Centurion, the French EBR-Panhard, the Russian T-34 and the American Sherman.
The Navy department - On display are the motor yacht Avila belonging to the late King Baudouin, and the river launch La Meuse. Until the early 1960s, the Belgian Navy used the latter vessel as a liaison ship or for representation missions.
Other sections include The First World War : 1914 - 1918;The Napoleonic Era; Gallery 1815 - 1830 - focusing on three main subjects: the Battle of Waterloo, the Dutch period and the Belgian revolution of 1830. The Historic Gallery : Belgium in the 19th century - reviews Belgian military history from 1830 up to the eve of the First World War. It holds a treasure of paintings, uniforms, equipment and sculptures.
