The People's Garden (Volksgarten) was opened in 1820 on the site of the old city wall fortifications.
This space is a popular town garden with park chairs and benches.
Highlights include a 1907 fountain monument to assassinated Empress Elisabeth ("Sisi"), designed by Friedrich Ohmann; and The Temple of Theseus (Theseustempel), an imitation of the Theseion temple in Athens, built in 1823 by Peter von Nobile.
The Garden is located close to The Burggarten (Castle Garden)
