BURGGARTEN (Castle Garden)




The Burggarten was designed in 1819 by Franz Antoine on the site of the old city wall fortifications.

Highlights includes monuments of Mozart, Goethe, and Emperor Franz Joseph I. Also a Palm House, designed by Friedrich Ohmann in the Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau), used partly as a butterfly house (entrance fee charge) and a cafe

The Garden is located close to The Volksgarten (People's Garden)
