The magnificent art nouveau building was built under the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph, opening in 1918. Today, contains 22, 000 square meters of exhibition space.

The Technisches Museum Wien offers a wide range of insights into the world of technology.

Texts, films, and experiments illustrate the mutual influence between technological achievements and society, economy and culture.

Exhibits include how society has developed as new forms of energy are discovered or applied; the development and evolution of heavy industries; musical instruments; science and nature; transport and much more!
