The EURO is the official currency of Austria

There are 100 cents in a Euro (€).

Euro Coins: 1€, 2€

  CREDIT CARDS

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are all widely accepted in Vienna.


  MONEY EXCHANGE

You can change cash at Banks in Vienna

There are several ATM machines in Vienna, which may be cheaper to withdraw money using your debit or credit card, but this depends on your individual bank charges!!


  BANKS OPENING TIMES

Generally Mon to Fri 08:00 - 12:30 and 13:30 to 15:00 (Thursday until 17:30)


  TIPPING

It used to be that rounding up the bill was sufficient, but it is becoming very common to tip nowadays.

Do not leave the payment or tip on the table. Hand it to the server or take it to the till.

Restaurant 10%, but only if very good service as a service charge is nearly always included in the bill.

Taxi: 10 - 15%

Doormen, bellboys, attendants, ushers 1€ - 2€

Porter 1€ - 3€
