
Taronga Zoo was officially opened on 7th October , 1916.
It has about 340 species and over 2600 individual animals.
The zoo is situated on high ground running along the waterfront, and offers great views of Sydney Cove, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

How to Get There
Approximately 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay
(Ferries depart Circular Quay, every quarter past and quarter to the hour).
Taronga Zoo is also accessible by bus. Buses leave from Wynyard bus station and depart from the Zoo's Main Entrance daily.
(Sky Safari cable car operates between the Zoo wharf and the Top Entrance from 9.30am to 5.00pm daily.)
TRANSPORT PACKAGES
Sydney Ferries: The all-inclusive Zoopass includes return ferry, Sky Safari/bus and Zoo admission and is available for the independent traveller from Circular Quay.
